Here is some info on the band themselves:The Git Band hail form Suffolk and like all true teachers, are rockers at heart! That's right, the band are all members of the teaching staff at Northgate High School in Ipswich, Suffolk! (with the exception of Ivan, who has recently moved to another school...) The Band cover songs by artists such as the great: Beatles, Stones, Small Faces, Kinks, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Free, Chilli Peppers, The Strokes, and even The Darkness!
The Git Band members are shown below with a little about themselves...
Little Joe Big Joe Gordon Tony Ivan Roger CV Guitars
The singer for the band, Little Joe is the latest addition to the line up - and the youngest member of the band. His hard rock heritage adds a raunchy rock element to the performances and he is a front man who has an easy rapport with the audience.
The bassist for the band, Big Joe lays down the beat for the band's members to follow. Without him, they... Well, wouldn't have a bassist!
The lead guitarist for the band, Gordon provides the solos to those classic songs such as "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and "Substitute". As an English teacher, he provides Northgate High with a valuable asset!
The saxophonist for the band, Tony adds that unusual spark into the mix. With solos in many Git Band songs, he assists Gordon in providing the traditional rock element, as well as adding new, diverse ideas to many classic songs.
The drummer for the band, Ivan provides the beat for all of the band's members. He also adds vocals to many of their songs, providing that unusual drummer/singer combination.

The rhythm guitarist for the band, Roger allows Gordon to take those solos, by keeping the song flowing beneath them. This, combined with the vocal talent he brings to the band, make him an important member!
To SG or not SG – Git Band Axology: Over the years Members of the Git Band have experimented with a variety of guitars, but they all have the SG in common. In his brief electric wanderings Roger has played an SG copy and both Joe and Gordon are proud owners of cherry red Gibson SG Standards. Other Axes seen in our hands include a lovely PRS and Fender Strat (Gordon) and an old Ibanez EZ370 (Joe). Roger is of course a lefty and favours his trusty electro-acoustic. Amp wise we favour All Valve Laneys with Roger using a Peavey, again all valve! Jumpin’ Joe on Bass is a Marshall Man!! Recently the band have added “You Shook me all night Long” by AC/DC to the set in a tribute to that piercing but strangely smooth SG sound. Recommended Listening for fans of the SG. Most AC/DC (Try 74 Jailbreak to hear Angus cutting loose), Most Late 60’s Who Tracks (Townsend Used Rickenbackers first but favoured the Sg in 68/69) and Duane Allmans Slide work! Wowee….
